A soft sauna, wet sauna or bio sauna uses lower temperatures and higher humidity. In a soft sauna the temperatures are usually 50-60°C and the humidity 60-80%. The air feels softer and therefore less sharp than in a Finnish sauna with high, dry temperatures. The high humidity can, whether or not combined with aromas, help with a cold, among other things, by opening up the airways again.

A soft sauna can be achieved in various ways. Choose a traditional sauna stove with plenty of stones. The more stones, the longer water can be evaporated. With smaller sauna stoves, with fewer stones, you can use water bowls placed on or between the stones.

Or choose ultimate ease of use with an automatic mister fitted above the sauna stove. This allows you to spray water over the sauna stones, either automatically or at the simple press of a button. This system can also be combined with automatic aroma dosing. A combi stove is a sauna stove with an integrated water tank. Thanks to intelligent controls, the temperature and humidity are kept constant at a preset value.

For soft saunas we advise treating your benches and walls with a water-repellent product specially developed for saunas and based on natural ingredients. Canadian Cedar is also an extremely suitable wood for the walls of a humid sauna. Do bear in mind the characteristic scent of cedar if you like to experiment with aromatherapy. For this type of sauna, take the necessary air circulation into account.
